version: Service Pack 2 ENG
I'm not so sure I would have payed $29.95 for this but Amazon had it for $13.17 at the time I bought it. I figured it was worth the risk at that price. I was right. It is well worth $20.
I read all the reviews and the complaints about shoddy coding and the inability to get it to work correctly. I don't know what to say about that. I had no problem. I already had SP2 which it instructed me to uninstall. I was a bit hesitant and made a full backup before I did that. No problems at all. Worked perfectly. What I like about it: The three planes are worth the $20 alone. Very nice and lots of fun. There are quite a few new missions which are very fun and interesting. I love the missions in FSX and having more is well worth it to me. One of the features this expansion pack provides is a nitrous oxide boost to the Extra 300. That is great! Now I can get well over 200 knots while boost is engaged! What I don't like: There are several new key commands with this expansion pack. For some stupid reason, three of them use the same key commands as existing commands. During installation, you are asked whether you want to install these new commands. Doing so unassigns the original commands that conflict with these new ones! Why can't they simply use key commands that don't conflict? Really stupid! I had to go back to do that by hand and made up new (unused) commands for these new ones so that my keycard didn't need to be changed. Not a big deal really but just unnecessary stupidity there. I don't know why this pack can't be smart enough to simply recognize that I already have SP2 and just install the rest and not have to install SP2 as well. Just poor programming. Again, not a big deal but I was pretty apprehensive to go into 'Add and Remove Programs' and uninstall the game in order to install this thing. If I had this to do all over again, I would certainly do it at the $13.71 price but I'm not sure I would pay $30 + shipping.
IMPORTANT: If you have already installed Flight Simulator X: Acceleration expansion pack, do not install Service Pack 2.
IMPORTANT: You must install Service Pack 1 before installing Service Pack 2.
Service Pack 2 does not include the code updates required to use the new Flight Simulator X: Acceleration aircraft. You must purchase and install Flight Simulator X: Acceleration to use those aircraft.

Sound Settings
We modified the Sound Settings dialog box so you can select separate audio adapters directly in the Sound Settings dialog box. We removed the Configure button and provided two list boxes to select audio adapters to separate voice and other sounds.
Multiplayer and Service Pack 2
Service Pack 2 brings computers running Flight Simulator X or Flight Simulator X Service Pack 1 into multiplayer compatibility with Flight Simulator X: Acceleration. Computers that have only the original retail version of Flight Simulator X or Flight Simulator X Service Pack 1 cannot connect in multiplayer with computers running Acceleration or SP2.
If you install SP2 but do not install Acceleration, you can connect to Acceleration multiplayer sessions but you cannot participate in Acceleration-only activities such as racing.
